Driveway in Honington Shipston-on-Stour

The latest Thomas Contracting project was laying a new 20mm shingle driveway in Honington just outside Shipston-on-Stour in South Warwickshire.

The driveway had half heartedly been done 10 years previously but an old concrete path hadn’t been replaced and this was in a terrible state.

The 1st job was pulling up the concrete paths, tidying up the existing drive and bringing in some type 1 to get a good sub base in place.

We took away 2 trailer fulls of old concrete and had an 8 yard skip in to take away all the muck and soil dragged of the existing driveaway and from where we had extended the turning area.

With the type one rolled in and edges wackered, next job was bringing in the shingle, spreading it nice and thin and giving it a gently wackering.

From a horrible messy half hearted drive to a stunning new driveway in less than a week and just in time for the clients 60th birthday so he could have a sit down on the bench in the corner of the garden supping on a bottle of Peroni whilst admiring his new driveway.
